Plot Summary of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Series:

Mikael Blomkvist, a scandal-plagued journalist, and Lisbeth Salander, an emotionally broken hacker, team up to investigate the disappearance of a member of one of Sweden’s most prominent business families, which kicks off their journey together.

My Thoughts on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Series:

What else can I say except there is a reason for all the hype. Though tortured and flawed, you will root for Mikael and Lisbeth. The story is riveting and fast-paced. As long as you don’t let yourself get bogged down in all the Swedish location names, you will not be able to put these books down.

Though I’m somewhat of a technology idiot, I found all the things Lisbeth and her hacker friends could do with computers fascinating…and a bit frightening (from a privacy perspective).

Even though it’s been years since I read these books, I still think they are the most intricate thrillers I’ve ever read. I keep looking for something that can beat them out and keep coming up short.

If you missed reading these books when they first came out, it’s absolutely worth your time to go back and read them. The Millennium Trilogy is on my Page Turners List.

  1. I have this series on my kindle. I had the paperbacks, given to me by my sister in law, but I donated them when I moved with all my other print books.

I still have my e-books because I keep thinking I should read them. They were (are still) so popular but sometimes that backfires and then I started to read negative reviews. Thanks for recommending them; I think it’s time for me to start the first one and see how it goes.

  2. I have read the first 2 books, and recently acquired the third book. I need to make time to read it. The Swedish films are amazeballs. Forget the American version. Noomi Rapace IS Lisbeth Salander. I highly recommend them. I found them on Netflix.
