The Mill River Recluse
by Darcie Chan, Fiction (Released May, 2011)
Bottom Line: Skip it.
Summary: A wealthy and reclusive widow’s death unveils secrets about the residents of the small town of Mill River.
My Thoughts: I should have paid attention to the $2.99 price tag for this book in the Kindle store – you get what you pay for! This book wasn’t so bad that I couldn’t finish it, but I’m definitely annoyed I wasted time reading it. The big “secret” that was unveiled at the end was meaningless and the dialogue was shallow and cliche. Reading these conversations was like listening to a bunch of exceedingly polite, but boring people talk to each other about nothing.
