Plot Summary of Last Night in Twisted River

Dominic and Danny (Dominic’s 12 year old son) are forced to flee their sawmill settlement and its constable after a tragedy and spend their lives on the run.

My Thoughts on Last Night in Twisted River

Logging and sawmills?  Ignore that part of the description – this book is about the characters and you will love Dominic, Danny, and Ketchum (a logger who helps Danny and Dominic flee).

Thought not my absolute favorite of Irving’s fiction (it’s hard to beat The World According to Garp and A Prayer for Owen Meany), Irving is one of my favorite authors and this is definitely in his second tier, which is far better than many other authors’ first tier! Last Night in Twisted River is on my Time to Kill and Book Club Recommendations lists.
