*Audio cheat is when I check out an e-book from the library to get the discounted audiobook price from Audible (an amazing tip I learned from Kathy at Kathy Reads Fiction). So, I’m not actually reading the e-book from the library, but listening to the audio version.
I’m impressed with all the nonfic! I need to get Padma’s book on my hold list asap!
Thanks 🙂 It’s not the norm for me…watch me have no nonfiction left that I want to read once Nonfiction Nov rolls around!
I’ve never heard of the audio cheat, totally looking into that!
It’s amazing!!! I can get audiobooks for like $5 without using any Audible credits. Definitely check it out on Kathy’s blog.
I’ve got Commonwealth downloaded from the library as we speak. As soon as I finish Vinegar girl, which is my other download…
Yay – I’m absolutely loving it so far!
Library holds coming in alter my reading plans more frequently than I’d like. But I keep placing those holds!
Me too 🙂 And they’ve brought me some of my best reading this year!
What did you think of the Padma Lakshmi book? I have the audio version to listen to but haven’t got around to it it. I feel like I’ll like it once I get started on it, but I just can’t encourage myself to get going.
I really enjoyed it on audio. Nice mix of gossip and behind the scenes stuff and substantive issues.
The library definitely showed me that there’s really no room for reading plans any more 😉
It’s definitely gotten me to relax (not chucking them completely, but way more relaxed than I was) on reading plans and I’m liking how that feels!
Gossip in the Padma Lakshmi one! That sounds promising. I’ve only heard amazing things about Commonwealth. Ann Patchett is always so readable but her endings tend to let me down. Will be interested to hear what you think about this one!
I haven’t gotten to end yet but it’s fantastic so far!
Ooh, Lab Girl was a good one! I hate having to return library books unread, but I’ve been doing that a lot lately. Starting a new job has kept me busy and I’ve been pretty optimistic with what I’ve checked out!
I’m so glad to hear that – I’m like 8th on the hold list at the library and am crossing my fingers it comes in in time for Nonfiction November.
